PROBLEM
Loss of Ink Density
CAUSE
  • De-wetting of ink.
SOLUTION
  • Use faster drying coating.
  • Monitor ink/water balance.
  • Avoid glycols and glycol ethers in fountain solution.
  • Run stronger inks allowing for thinner film thickness.
  • Use faster setting inks.
  • Change to a more porous stock.
  • If possible, leave open unit between coating and ink station.
